About AWANA
Our AWANA club is staffed by trained leaders who really care about kids and will do their best to help your child grow spiritually, mentally and emotionally through their club experience. During this year we will feature many special events (link to calendar), games and prizes to encourage enthusiastic participation, but it is important to know (especially for parents) that AWANA is much more than fun and games.
The Heart
The heart of the AWANA program is the Bible meory work includes in the club handbooks. Although our club is sponsored locally by Woodlands church, we do not teach the doctrine of any specific church, since AWANA is a non-denominational organization. What we do teach is that the Bible is God's Word and that it has a message for us today. We hope that through his or her experience in our club, your child will elarn that we have a living and personal god who loves and desires our love in return. Click here to visit AWANA's web site for more information about the origanization.
AWANA is not meant to be a replacement for church or Sunday School.

How Can I Help?
Parents are always welcome at our weekly meeting or special events and we invite your comments or suggestions as well. Â In the past, parents have asked, "How can I help?" Here are a few ideas:
- PRAY!: Pray for the Clubbers that they will come to know Jesus personally and deeply.
- Attendance: Encourage regular attendance at club.? Interest and motivation seem to weaken when attendance is sporadic.
- Dues, Uniform and Bible: We strongly encourage the clubbers to wear their uniform, and to bring their Bible and dues. In fact, for the T&T clubbers, they get points for wearing a uniform, bringing dues and a Bible.
- Handbooks: Encourage kids to work in their handbooks at home.? Please see the back of this page for the standars that we have for passing sections.? For each handbook, AWANA has a tape that puts all of the words to music. (link back to cost page).
- Get to Know the Leaders: Get to know your child's club leader and share with her or him your child's special needs.
- Volunteer: Volunteer to help out with special events or transportion.? You will enjoy sharing your child's fun and enthusiasm.
