Welcome to AWANA at Woodlands! We have lots of fun and excitement here on Club nights and having you here will make it all the better. You're going to love being part of our club. Each week in our club meetings we do:
- Gather
- Handbook Time
- Game Time
- Bible Time
- Worship Time
- Award Time
Clubs
We don't all do each part at the same time.
- 3&4 Year Olds are in the Cubbies Club
- Kindergarten - 2nd Grade are in the Sparks Club
- 3rd - 6th Graders are in the Truth & Training Club (T&T)
Gather
At the beginning of the night all the Sparks and T&Ts come together and worship, hear announcements and spend some time singing and worshiping. You won't want to miss the announcements (Adventures of Announcement Man) because many weeks we have fun contests or special events to talk about.
Game Time
Sometime during the night, your group will play games in the Multi-Purpose Room or in Celebration Square. We run races, battle with balloons and balls, and more. At the end of the night there are prizes for the winning team. In Cubbies and Sparks -- everyone is a winner. For T&T we keep track of team points for game time and for handbook time where you could earn 20 points for your team for memorizing verses in a section of your handbook. You can also earn points for bringing friends, bringing a Bible, and paying the dues.
Handbook Time
Your first time at AWANA, your T&T or Sparks leader will give you a booklet called either Flight 3:16 or the Start Zone. There booklets are divided into sections. Some of the sections have you memorize a Bible verse, for others you just need to come a few times. Your handbook leaders will explain how this works. After you pass all of the sections in the booklet, you will receive the official membership card for your club and can purchase a uniform. Then you can work through a book with more verses and activities and earn more awards.
Bible Time
This is when you get to hear exciting stories from the Bible or about missionaries. This is a great time to learn more about God.
Award Time
At the end of the night, Sparks and T&Ts split again. This is also the time when we present the awards that all of the kids have earned. Pretty soon, your name will be called to receive an award! Your friends will be cheering for you! |
